Sambaiana is a female samba collective from Salvador composed of Marília Sodré (guitar and vocals), Ju Moraes (vocals and percussion), Grace Profeta (vocals and percussion), Rayra (vocals and cavaquinho), Marcinha BB (percussion), and Lalá Evangelista (percussion).
Besides their passion for samba, the collective believes that women should not be limited to vocals but should participate fully in the samba circle, playing all the instruments.
