Reality Show Participant Details Allegations Against Leandro Marçal, Whom She Married on the Show
Ingrid Santa Rita, a participant in the fourth season of the reality show “Love is Blind” (Netflix), revealed in a video released this Thursday (11) that she was repeatedly raped by Leandro Marçal, the man she married on the show.
“I couldn’t react. I’ve always seen myself as a very confident woman, I thought this would never happen to me, that if it did, it would be on the street. But it was happening in my house,” she said. “My body reacted, my body collapsed.”
In the video, Ingrid states that she went to a police station and filed a report. “Everything will be handled legally,” she asserts.
What Happened Between Ingrid and Leandro
Ingrid and Leandro met and married during “Love is Blind.” In a reunion episode of the participants, released this Wednesday (10) by Netflix, she revealed that they were no longer together and, without directly mentioning the accusation, hinted that Leandro forced her to have non-consensual sex.
In the video published on Instagram this Thursday, Ingrid confirms she was raped by her ex-husband. She explains that throughout their relationship, Leandro had erectile dysfunction issues, and she suggested he seek help.
“The abuse, the rape, this is the word, started happening after I had that conversation with him. Leandro would wait for me to fall asleep to try to solve his problem,” she continues.
“In his mind, if he could have sex with me, we wouldn’t have any more problems. But he forgot that he needed to inform me, that it needed to be consensual.”
According to Ingrid, Leandro tried to perform oral sex, use his hands, and penetrate her while she slept. “I always woke up, asking him to stop. I began to feel disgusted by the relationship and his attempts.”
The participant recounts that in one incident, she lost consciousness: “I was screaming: don’t touch me anymore. I couldn’t catch my breath, I couldn’t breathe. I fainted, hit my back on the bed. I woke up with my daughters on top of me. Leandro was sitting on the bed, watching me.”
Leandro’s Response to accusation
In the reunion episode of “Love is Blind Brazil 4,” Leandro admitted to having “sexual problems” in his relationship with Ingrid. “I got tested, I sought help. It wasn’t a physical problem, it was psychological.”
“In terms of sex, I never said I was right; I was wrong in trying to solve a problem in our relationship. I sought help, but things don’t happen quickly. The sexual aspect was indeed a problem for us. I thought that if we resolved it, our relationship would improve.”
Without directly addressing Ingrid’s accusations, he apologized to his ex-wife: “Our relationship didn’t work out. I apologize, as I have many times before. I understand what my mistake was, but a relationship involves two people.”
Immediately after, Ingrid asked to leave the show’s recording. The reality show’s hosts, Camila Queiroz and Klebber Toledo, asked Leandro to leave as well.
“Even though something may have happened during Ingrid and Leandro’s relationship after the show ended, sensitive issues like this need to be treated with great seriousness and care. We hope this story reaches a fair resolution for everyone,” Camila said.
